This month was a good reading month for me. I finished 5 books. I had 12 for my goal, but I’m happy with my 5 in total. I’m hoping I can get more read in December, but with the holidays and being super busy I’m not sure if I will get much read or not.
- Language of Thorns
This was so good, if you love short stories this one is for you. Leigh Bardugo is such an amazing writer and she didn’t disappoint with this book at all. At the end of each short story, you learn a lesson about life. I loved the writing and the illustrations inside, just a beautiful book. 5/5
2. Bargain in Silver
This one was sent to me by the author and I was really unsure of whether or not I would enjoy it or not. It quickly intrigued me and had me captured with the plot and how different it was from anything I had ever read. Josie didn’t disappoint with the imagery and descriptiveness of the scenes and all the juicy drama. 4/5
3. Turtles All The Way Down
I had never read a John Green book before this one and I enjoyed it, I was mainly curious about the OCD rep, I related to the rep so much, I didn’t think I would. The storytelling and overall plot had me interested and I fell in love with John’s writing. 4/5
This novel and me so in captured with the writing and overall story I couldn’t put it down, but it was also slow till the last 50 pages or so and that’s really what redeemed the book in my eyes. It was a fantastic story, but I think it was too much information at the end that put me off. 3/5
5. Behind Closed Doors
This novel dealt heavily with abuse. It was so good I finished it in one sitting. B.A. captures you and leaves you wanting more with each chapter, I couldn’t help but want more and to know what happens with Grace. Paris is such a fantastic writer and I want to read more of her novels now.
I’m hoping to get these 6 plus a few more read this month. I’m not sure if I’ll get to all of them with the holidays so close, but fingers crossed.
How many books did you read in the month of November? What is your goal for December?
